Jr Parts Advisor and Shipper/Receiver - Automotive Parts Department

Responsibilities:
As a Shipper/Receiver in our automotive parts department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods in and out of the department. Your daily duties will include:
Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick automotive parts orders for both retail and wholesale customers, ensuring items are properly labeled and packaged to prevent damage during transit.
Receiving: Receive incoming shipments of automotive parts, inspecting them for accuracy and quality. Check items against purchase orders and invoices, and resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
Inventory Management: Maintain an organized and well-structured inventory storage system. Update inventory records, and communicate low stock situations to the department manager.
Data Entry: Enter relevant information into the inventory management system, including part numbers, quantities, and tracking numbers, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
Shipping Coordination: Arrange shipments using various carriers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of orders. Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and any required documentation.
Quality Control: Inspect outbound shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and are free of defects before being dispatched to customers. Address any quality concerns promptly.
Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including sales associates and technicians, to ensure accurate order fulfillment and resolve any customer inquiries related to shipping and receiving.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations while handling automotive parts. Follow proper procedures for hazardous material handling, if applicable.
Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the shipping and receiving area clean and organized, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping/receiving role, preferably within the automotive or parts industry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 50lbs as required.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude.
- Familiarity with automotive parts and terminology is a plus.
